Trip Overview

The IBWISE Leadership + CAS Trip offers students aged 15–19 a unique opportunity to combine community service with cultural immersion in the breathtaking Austrian Alps. Over six days, participants volunteer in local settings such as kindergartens, traditional inns, and nature parks, while also engaging in enriching experiences like baking bread on a family farm, learning traditional trades, and exploring alpine ecosystems on guided hikes.
Running from 12–17 July 2025, this program fosters leadership, teamwork, and intercultural understanding while fulfilling IB CAS requirements. At the end of the trip, each student receives a CAS certificate detailing hours, dates, and completed activities — a valuable addition to resumes and university applications. This program can also be paired seamlessly with the IBWISE Pre-IB & Mid-IB Summer Camp in Vienna (starting 18 July 2025).
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, transfer from Vienna Airport, welcome session, introduction to the mountain village
Day 2–5:
Volunteering in a kindergarten, traditional inn, or alpine nature park
Cultural immersion: baking bread on a traditional farm, learning heritage trades
Guided mountain hikes exploring alpine ecosystems, flora, and fauna
Evening group reflections and cultural activities
Day 6: Closing session, CAS certificate presentation, transfer to Vienna

Additional Program Elements

Group Requirements: Open enrollment for individuals aged 15–19. Suitable for IB students seeking CAS hours or those interested in cultural service learning.
