Itinerary
Day 1: Amsterdam’s Canals & Culture
We’ll meet you at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and transfer to our city-center hotel. After check-in, we’ll immediately start exploring the iconic canal rings, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll visit the famous Dam Square and the Royal Palace, and delve into the world of Dutch Masters at a major museum, perhaps the Rijksmuseum to see Rembrandt’s ‘Night Watch’ or the Van Gogh Museum, providing a deep dive into the nation’s unparalleled artistic heritage.
Day 2: Windmills, Clogs & Cheese at Zaanse Schans
Today, we take a short trip to the open-air museum at Zaanse Schans. This is a living history village where the Netherlands’ iconic traditions are preserved. Students will see historic windmills in action, watch artisans hand-carve wooden clogs, and learn how Dutch cheese is made. It’s a hands-on, immersive experience into the rural crafts and industrial innovation that defined the Dutch Golden Age and shaped the country’s identity.
Day 3: The Hague – International City of Peace & Justice
We journey to The Hague, the Netherlands’ seat of government and the international capital of peace and justice. Here, the focus shifts from history to modern global politics. We’ll see the magnificent Peace Palace, home to the United Nations’ International Court of Justice, and explore the city’s elegant government buildings. This visit provides a powerful look at the Netherlands’ role as a diplomatic hub and its commitment to international law.
