Milan & Lake Como: Style, History & Alpine Beauty
4 DaysTrip Overview
This four-day escape offers a captivating contrast between Italy’s vibrant fashion capital and the breathtaking serenity of its most famous lake. Students will experience the dynamic energy of Milan’s design scene and historic landmarks before being whisked away to the stunning natural beauty of Lake Como. This journey is designed to showcase two distinct facets of Italian life: the innovative, forward-thinking pulse of a global city and the timeless, picturesque charm of alpine villages and glacial waters. It’s a perfect blend of urban culture and natural wonder.
Itinerary
Day 1: The Heart of Modern Milan
We’ll meet you at Milan Malpensa or Linate Airport and transfer to your central hotel. After check-in, we’ll dive straight into the city’s iconic center. Our exploration will include the magnificent Gothic Duomo Cathedral, the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping arcade, and the historic La Scala opera house. This first day immerses us in the sophisticated atmosphere that defines Italy’s financial and fashion capital.
Day 2: A Day Trip to Lake Como
Today, we exchange city streets for stunning lake views on a day trip to Lake Como. We’ll travel to the town of Como and take a relaxing boat cruise on the lake, passing lavish villas and charming villages nestled against the alpine foothills. We’ll have time to explore the picturesque town of Bellagio, known as the “Pearl of the Lake,” with its steep cobblestone streets and vibrant gardens, offering a perfect taste of la dolce vita.
Day 3: Fun & Fashion in the City
We return to Milan for a day that balances thrills with culture. The morning is dedicated to fun at Europark Milan, where students can enjoy a variety of rides and attractions. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the city’s renowned design culture, perhaps visiting a modern art gallery or the fascinating Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia (National Museum of Science and Technology), which celebrates Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions and more.
Day 4: Ciao, Milano!
We’ll enjoy a final Italian breakfast together. There may be time for some last-minute exploration or souvenir shopping in the trendy Brera district before we transfer to the airport for our departure, taking home a taste of Italian style and natural beauty.
