Trip Overview

NASA Space Camp is a world-renowned program where students step into the shoes of astronauts and engineers. Held at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, this immersive camp blends science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) learning with exciting hands-on activities. From astronaut training simulators to rocket construction, students experience the thrill of space exploration while developing problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Orientation
Check-in, campus tour, introduction to fellow trainees, and opening briefing.

Day 2: Astronaut Training Basics

  • Train on the 1/6th Gravity Chair
  • Experience the Five Degrees of Freedom simulator
  • Learn the basics of space hardware and astronaut life

Day 3: Rockets & Robotics

  • Build and launch a model rocket
  • Learn how NASA is preparing for missions to Mars
  • Intro to robotics and teamwork challenges

Day 4: Living in Space

  • Simulated mission aboard the International Space Station
  • Aquatic team-building activity (space survival skills)
  • Educational movie at the National Geographic Theater

Day 5: Mission Simulations

  • Full team mission to ISS and beyond
  • Design and present ideas for a futuristic Martian colony
  • Participate in camp-wide Challenge Night

Day 6: Graduation & Departure

  • Closing ceremony with certificates
  • Farewell to teammates and instructors
  • Departure after morning graduation (9:00 a.m.)

Note: Sessions are available throughout the year with set start and end dates (Expeditions 35–48, 2025–2026). Places are limited — advance booking is recommended.
