Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Viking Spirits
We’ll greet you at Oslo Airport and transfer to our central hotel. Our introduction to the city begins with a guided tour that highlights its seamless blend of old and new. We’ll see the modern Opera House, with its roof that slopes into the fjord, and contrast it with the historic Akershus Fortress, a medieval castle that has stood guard over the city for centuries. This first day sets the stage for Oslo’s unique character.
Day 2: Seafaring History & Fram Museum
Today is dedicated to Norway’s intimate connection with the sea. We’ll visit the Bygdøy peninsula, home to several world-class museums. First, we’ll step back in time at the Viking Ship Museum, where incredibly preserved 9th-century Viking longships are displayed. Then, we’ll experience the age of polar exploration at the Fram Museum, where students can board the actual ship used by Amundsen and Nansen and feel the harsh conditions they endured.
Day 3: Sculpture Parks & Fjord Cruise
We’ll explore the creative heart of Oslo at Frogner Park, home to the unique Vigeland Installation—a sprawling display of over 200 bronze and granite sculptures by Gustav Vigeland, depicting the human experience. In the afternoon, we’ll gain a completely different perspective of the city with a relaxing cruise on the Oslofjord, seeing the city’s skyline and lush islands from the water, a essential Oslo experience.
Day 4: Modern Architecture & Departure
We’ll enjoy a final Scandinavian breakfast. The morning offers time to explore the city’s modern architectural gems, like the new Munch Museum or the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, before we transfer to the airport for our departure, carrying with us the calm and innovative spirit of Norway.
