Rome: The Eternal City’s Living History

4 Days

Trip Overview

This four-day immersion into the heart of the ancient world is a journey every student deserves to experience. Rome isn’t a city that simply has history; it is history, with millennia of empire, art, and faith layered upon every street and piazza. From the mighty Colosseum to the spiritual epicenter of the Vatican, students will walk where emperors, gladiators, and artists once trod. This trip brings the Roman Empire and the Renaissance to vivid, unforgettable life, connecting classroom learning to the very stones that built Western civilization.

Itinerary

Day 1: The Colosseum & Roman Forum
We’ll meet you at Rome Fiumicino Airport and transfer to our hotel. We waste no time, heading straight to the most iconic symbol of ancient Rome: the Colosseum. Standing within this ancient arena, students can almost hear the roar of the crowds. Right next door, we’ll explore the Roman Forum, the sprawling heart of the ancient city where politicians, orators, and citizens once mingled among temples and basilicas. It’s a powerful first day that truly showcases the scale of the Roman Empire.

Day 2: The Vatican & St. Peter’s Basilica
Today we cross into another world power: Vatican City. We’ll spend the morning exploring the Vatican Museums, a overwhelming treasure trove of art collected by the popes over centuries. The journey culminates in the Sistine Chapel, where we’ll gaze up at Michelangelo’s breathtaking ceiling. Afterwards, we’ll step inside the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world, to see another Michelangelo masterpiece, the Pietà, and marvel at the grandeur of Bernini’s bronze canopy.

Day 3: Renaissance Romance & The Dolce Vita
We’ll step into the postcard-perfect Rome of the Renaissance era. Our day is spent exploring the Centro Storico (historic center), tossing coins into the Trevi Fountain, climbing the Spanish Steps, and people-watching in the Piazza Navona, home to Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers. This day captures the romantic, artistic, and lively spirit of Rome, allowing students to experience the dolce vita lifestyle and the beauty of Baroque art integrated into the city’s fabric.

Day 4: Villa Borghese Gardens & Departure
We’ll enjoy a final Italian breakfast of cornetti and cappuccino. For our last morning, we’ll escape the city bustle and relax in the beautiful landscapes of the Villa Borghese Gardens. We may visit the Galleria Borghese to see its incredible collection of Bernini and Caravaggio masterpieces. Afterwards, we’ll transfer to the airport for our departure, leaving with a profound connection to the layers of history that make Rome eternal.
