Trip Overview

The UC San Diego summer program offers students the perfect mix of academic growth and California coastal living. With English language instruction in the mornings and exciting excursions in the afternoons, participants explore San Diego’s beaches, parks, and world-class attractions. From the zoo to the historic Old Town, this program balances university learning with cultural immersion and seaside relaxation.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in San Diego
Arrival at UC San Diego housing, program orientation, and campus tour.

Day 2–5: Learning & Exploration
Morning English lessons (20–45 hours per week). Afternoon and evening excursions include:

• Old Town & Little Italy with local farmers’ markets
• Seaport Village & Balboa Park cultural visit
• La Jolla Shores & Coronado Beach outings
• Belmont Park and Mission Beach for amusement and seaside fun
• Visit to the San Diego Zoo

Day 6: Coastal Discovery
Outdoor learning session followed by beach activities and group games at La Jolla.

Day 7: Reflection & Celebration
Closing activities, certificate ceremony, and farewell dinner.

Day 8: Departure
Check-out, transfer to airport, and departure.

Additional Program Elements

Educational Value: Students enhance their English language proficiency while engaging with California’s diverse culture, science-focused institutions, and university environment.

Safety & Logistics: Students stay in supervised shared housing. Excursions are chaperoned and all transport is arranged by program staff.

Group Requirements: No minimum attendance required. Programs run June through August.
